Newsletter August 2024

And just like that we are into August, wrapping up Summer Day Camp next week, scheduling Fall programs, and planning Hay Day 2024!

July was a busy one, and we'd especially like to share a huge thank you to everyone who came to the Brunch for Horses, donated and supported the Feed the Horses Hay Campaign! The Brunch was sold out this year, and we could not be more grateful for your generosity, whether you attended the event or supported the campaign online!

As we have shared, the rescue has been bursting at the seams, so we are excited to share that several adoptions have finalized and we will be welcoming new intakes later this month, as there are several horses in dire need. We have a whole herd of wonderful horses that are ready for their next adventure, from trail horses to project horses to beginner kids horses, if you are looking, the herd is ready to meet you!

August brings some fun events with wonderful partners in the community, so please check those out if you are around!

Eliza Adopted!

Bill Adopted!

Horse Updates

Adoptions for Bill & Eliza finalized in July. These two happened to arrive together and were with us exactly one year before they each found their person. Bill, a retired off the track thoroughbred with a huge personality, will be missed at the ranch but we are excited for his next adventure. Eliza, a blind retired polo pony with metabolic disease, will be boarded at the ranch and now has a girl she goes on adventures with around the ranch and on the trail! These two are amazing examples of horses that needed a safe place to find their new people.

If you visit the ranch, you might miss Concho, as she left for a foster home, where this old lady can find rest, gain weight and recover. Gus presents himself to be a wonderful riding mule and Lucky's riding training is making huge strides, so much so that she is ready for her person! Harley who arrived in bad shape last month is doing great, enjoying pasture and even some love during camp!

Unless other critical cases reach out, we will hold off on any other intakes until some adoptions finalize. So if you know someone ready to adopt a horse? Click HERE to learn more about the process! Spread the word about Horse Adoption! Another amazing way to support these horses, is to sponsor a horse and make a donation!

Riding horses especially are going as quickly as they come to us, so don't hesitate, come meet the herd today!
