And just like that...

...we are well into August when the evenings are starting to be cooler and these sunsets are so beautiful at the ranch.

Another huge thank you to everyone who came to the Brunch for Horses, donated and supported the Feed the Horses Hay Campaign! We raised just over $70K to Feed the Herd for the next year! We could not be more grateful for your generosity, whether you attended the event or supported the campaign online!

We just wrapped up Summer Day Camps last week. Over 400 program participants visited the ranch since the beginning of Summer, and there is more scheduled for August. Staff is busy scheduling Fall programs, and more importantly planning Hay Day 2025, MVHR's Ranch Open House on September 13! and the Online Hay Day Auction!

A new event benefitting MVHR and other local Nonprofits just got scheduled on October 1: The SteamMasters Charitable Golf Outing at Sonnenalp in Edwards! Are you a golfer, check out below how you can register your team!

As we have shared last month, the rescue has been bursting at the seams, so we are excited to share that several adoptions have finalized. With nearby wild fires in Routt County and possible evacuation intakes we are helping with, new rescue intakes are postponed to later this month. There are however several horses in dire need, with just this past week MVHR receiving 6 new requests, each for multiple horses.

We have a whole herd of wonderful horses that are ready for their next adventure, from trail horses to project horses, lovely companions and easy going horses, if you are looking, the herd is ready to meet you!

Also, we have added a Tuesday volunteer training in August, September and October. And MVHR is hiring! Scroll down to find out more.

Dolores at her new Home!

Hanson started his Adoption Trial

Cremello is ready for his Next Adventure!

MVHR Horse Updates!

August is off to a wonderful start with adoptions finalizing for Clementine, Padme, Molly, Ginger, Daisy and Dolores!

Yes, you read that right, Dolores who came to us just 4 weeks ago left for her new home already! We knew this sweet and cute Mule wouldn't be with us long, but this might be a record adoption at MVHR!

Another recent intake, Hanson, started his adoption trial with a great partner he will continue to learn with, and left for the Aspen area earlier this week.

Recent intakes Pinto Bean, Blue and Juniper have settled in to the herd with others. Darcy, who was in a foster home for the past year, has returned to the ranch. This OTTB is goofy, energetic and would make a best friend for life, but can no longer be ridden so is looking for someone who enjoys groundwork and round pen play.

Interested in your next horse, or know someone who is? Amazing horses are waiting for their next adventures!

Come meet LucyCremello, Daci, Zephyr, Dancer, Cricket, Lucky, Darcy, Ernie, Gem, Dolly, Babe, Latigo, Huckleberry, Hammer, Rebel, Boomer, Big, Freddie, & Belle!

Adoptions make it possible for us to help more horses with next chapters of their own, and for you to have an amazing horse in your life!
