| | Robin's Nest is Taking Shape It's been a while since we have done a construction update on our new barn and indoor arena - Robin's Nest. This is in part because, as projects like this are prone to do, there have been a few delays and decisions that required troubleshooting, additional bids and more. However, once our new facility started going up, it went up quickly and is looking amazing! The roof is on, the cupolas are on, and siding was recently added with the north and east sides already completed. The interior and many of the technical systems will take a little bit more time, but we anticipate moving into this wonderful new facility in the spring of 2022. Our gratitude to the Rhea Bigelow Charitable Trust, Morton Buildings and all others involved is impossible to express. We can't wait to show off the Robin's Nest and start putting it to good use! |

| | Equine Updates Doc left on a trial adoption last month, was returned, and already has another application for adoption. Trial periods are exactly that, and if the adoption is not the right fit for either party, it is always our policy to take a horse back. Fingers crossed that Doc's next move is to his forever home! If you are interested in adding to your family, MVHR has lots of wonderful candidates available. Contact us at info@mvhr.net to learn more. For the second month in a row, we welcomed four new horses. This time two mares and two foals! Bonita, Paloma, Noche and Wren arrived to quarantine on November 1st. These beautiful Mustangs are unhandled and will need extensive care and training before they are ready for adoption. We are looking for a sponsor or sponsors for these amazing animals, so they can receive the best care and training as MVHR ensures their care for the next several years! Tamian and Beamer are in rehab! In an ongoing effort to see if we can get these two truly comfortable after so many years of hoof neglect, they are spending time at our veterinarian Dr. Stocker's property to receive her (even more) intense attention, care & rehabilitation. After just a few weeks, they already look much better and we continue to wish this sweet pair the best possible recovery! |

| | Volunteer Spotlight: Betsy Striedel With her home located near Bond, Colorado, Betsy might be the MVHR volunteer with the shortest commute. She also may be the volunteer with the most medical experience, having been a vet tech at a large and small animal clinic for about 10 years before deciding to pursue a career in architecture. That's probably why Roman is giving her the side eye! Don't worry - he still loves her. Betsy grew up raising cattle on the gulf coast of Texas, and then spent several years between San Antonio and Austin while she finished her master’s degree in architecture... |

| | Horse of The Month: Buddy Buddy came to us with his buddy, Torec, in the fall of 2020. This handsome mid-twenties American Warmblood gelding has had an illustrious career as a breeding stallion and dressage horse, showing through Prix St. Georges level, and working as a 3rd level schoolmaster! A sweet, fun guy to be around, MVHR is evaluating whether he might be up for some light under saddle work...maybe he even remembers some of those fancy moves from his younger days! If you would like to sponsor or adopt Buddy, or learn more about our other horses, please contact us at info@mvhr.net. |
