Happy Summer Solstice! The days at the ranch are busy with volunteers, visitors and program participants all providing love & care to the horses! Summer Day Camp just finished it's fourth week and we've seen so many smiling faces and wonderful shiny groomed horses.

MVHR's 2024 Impact report went out earlier this month, if you haven't seen it yet, do have a look at how many amazing Journeys of Hope you helped make possible last year!

As always, many horse updates, most of which are adoption trials starting this month, which will help make room for more horses! We did welcome in a group of six horses at the end of May, who are part of a law enforcement case, so we can't share much about them yet, but hope to soon! Read up below, on current Journeys of Hope.

This will be the first year MVHR has a float in the Vail 4th of July Parade! It's a fun theme and we can't wait to share our mission with all those who visit this popular parade in Vail Village. We are still looking for children (and adults!) to join the float. Interested? Read below how to sign up.

We look forward to the Brunch for Horses on July 27th in Lake Creek, Edwards! Tickets will be available next week, so keep an eye on your email as this event did sell out last year!

Vern & Cassidy at their new Home

Welcome Back: Zephyr

Daisy is ready for her next adventure!

MVHR Horse Updates!

Big Vern, and his best friend Cassidy, arrived at their new home and are in horse heaven. We are so happy they have found a home together!

Padme, who just arrived last month, has an adoption pending and heads to her new home on the front range soon! Clementine has been adopted, and heads just north of us to Yampa. Molly and Ginger started their adoption trial with a wonderful family, and Rebel Rose & Midnight aka Sunny have found their forever people, both staying at the ranch as boarders!

Sweet Suede headed to a foster home last month, and this amazing family loves her so much they are finalizing her adoption instead. We call this a "failed foster home" ;) just how we like them!

We welcomed back Zephyr, who was adopted from MVHR a few years ago. She is a beautiful paint mare, ready for anything and won't be at MVHR long!

Six new intakes arrived into quarantine through a law enforcement related case, and are well cared for at MVHR while this case goes through the court. We can't share much yet, but once we can we certainly will.

Interested in your next horse, or know someone who is? Amazing horses are waiting for their next adventures!

Come meet LucyCremello, Daci, Zephyr, Dancer, Cricket, Lucky, Daisy, Ernie & Gem if you hope to get on the trail!

Or maybe you are looking for a best friend for your other horses, or for you to cuddle with? Come meet Latigo, Huckleberry, Hammer, Rebel, Boomer, Big, Freddie, Torec & Belle!

Adoptions make it possible for us to help more horses with next chapters of their own, and for you to have an amazing horse in your life!

Little Bay aka LB

This cute as a button bay gelding arrived at MVHR last Summer in need of a little help. He was underweight and had some lameness issues. Expected to be in his early twenties, this retired ranch horse was starting to look better every day and he quickly showed us he was ready to get back under saddle. By the end of Summer, he was participating in programs and lessons at the ranch and he became a favorite amongst the staff.

Little Bay met his forever family last Fall, and went home with Colby & Carson, two ranch boys who love him dearly. It's a match made in heaven. Little Bay now goes to the local gymkhana, where Carson (4) rides him and is doing amazing!

Thank you Nieslanik Family for sharing this update and for adopting Little Bay in 2024, giving him the best retirement home we could have hoped for!

After attending the Volunteer Training, you’ll be able to return to the Rescue as your schedule permits to help with chores and spend time with the horses. More information about MVHR's Volunteer Program - click HERE.

And mark your calendars for Hay Day, September 13!!! This annual open house event is our largest every year, introducing hundreds of people from our community to the ranch and the horses. But we'll need LOTS of Volunteers to make it a success! Plan to join us to help out with this fun event! Email volunteer@mvhr.net if you can help!
