| | | HORSE UPDATES Love was certainly in the air, as four MVHR horses found loving adoptive homes in February! Cole headed around the corner to Carbondale, where he will be a pleasure horse around the ranch. Rex picked a person of his very own and headed up to snowy Craig to embark on a career of endurance riding. And Angel and Baybee headed together to the front range, where they now have a family of their very own. Because of YOU these happy endings to these Journeys of Hope are possible...and now we will begin some others. Look for news of intakes in March as we sort through who on our waiting list needs help soonest, and bring them to the ranch to begin their own Journey of Hope! |
| | | | | While on our waiting list, many owners provide MVHR with information about their horse and ask for help marketing them, in hopes of getting them directly into new private homes. This is a service MVHR provides at no cost, and to anyone who requests it. The list is long, and there are some great horses looking for homes on our "Other Horses" page. Check them out! |

| | VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES - We Need Your Help! No horse experience is needed to volunteer, as MVHR provides introductory and ongoing training to help to develop horsemanship skills that will allow you to volunteer with the horses in varying capacities, based on your interest, such as: Corral Catering Water and hay need to be topped off throughout the day, and the horses will love you for it! Manure Meditations What more valuable way to spend time than putting a corner of the world all to rights, and all for the horses?! There's always plenty of manure to go around and, whether scooping one corral or five, every single pile picked up helps the horses stay happy and healthy...and you too ;)! Tuesday Tech Both the vet and the farrier are at the ranch on Tuesdays, and that makes for a busy day when we could use extra hands to help handling horses! You can learn to be a "Tech" and assist with catching and holding horses while they have their vet and farrier treatments, and even help with any ongoing treatments they may need on other days of the week. Grooming Gurus For those who can’t wait to get in there and curry and comb, getting all the dirt and tangles out! Grooming helps improve the health of each and every horse, and this is a great way to get to know the herd! |
