| Chance's Challenge! On May 8th Chance Turns 20! Chance was adopted from Mountain Valley Horse Rescue by board member Jen Werderitch in 2017 after he stole her heart when she was volunteering one day. In honor of his birthday, Chance’s Challenge will take place during the month of May to help raise money for the horses that have come to MVHR just like Chance. To represent his 20 years, Chance is asking YOU to make a donation in denominations of 2s, whether it’s $2, $20, $200, or $2000, every dollar counts. Can you help Chance reach his goal of $2000 in his Challenge? |

| | Versatile Equine Mini Clinics June 2-4 Do you need help with your horse?
Mountain Valley Horse Rescue is excited to share with the community it will be hosting Versatile Equine June 2-4 for two days of mini clinics for local horse owners! All horse owners, all levels are welcome to come learn more! Daniel and Sophia Harris with Versatile Equine are a dynamic duo with diverse backgrounds that came together with a united vision: to help horses become happy, confident athletes both inside and outside the arena. MVHR believes it is very important to offer the opportunity for horse owners to learn more with their horse, and work through difficulties so that the bond between human & horse becomes strong. Some of the MVHR Rescue herd will be participating in the clinics too, this training is so valuable to the horses on their Journey of Hope. Want to come watch? | | ASPCA Adopt a Horse Month! It's the third annual #AdoptAHorse Month with ASPCA Right Horse. MVHR is excited to participate in this nation wide adoption initiative taking place throughout the month of May to help more equines find loving homes. MVHR along with over 90 additional equine adoption and rescue groups across the country have joined the campaign to promote the adoptable horses in their care and engage with their communities to raise awareness about equine adoption. | | | | Horse Updates The sad news we must share is that Al was laid to rest after we tried everything to help him with frontend lameness issues for some time. In the end, a pulled tendon was a condition he could not recover from and we gave him his wings. This month, we are exited to share more horses moved to their new homes since the last newsletter. Toffee started her adoption trial period last month with a wonderful family of her own. Noche, who arrived just last month and was set to go to a foster home for the summer, however didn't need to go after all as someone fell in love with him and he started his new adventure just last week. Sweet boy Stormy hit the jackpot by starting his new Journey with a wonderful organization that hosts summer camps, where he will receive so much love! Lastly, Chip, who has been with us almost two years learning & growing, started his adoption trial with a person of his very own. Are you ready to consider adoption? | | VOLUNTEER - Spend time with the Horses! We welcome any and all who wish to volunteer at MVHR to join us for upcoming “Saturdays at the Rescue” Community Volunteer Days on May 20, June 17, July 15, and August 12, from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm. All ages are welcome! Lunch is provided and transportation from Wolcott is available too! For those of you who would like to become a Certified Volunteer, which qualifies you to come up to the Rescue anytime to help, there is Volunteer Orientation at the same time! Once you’ve attended a Volunteer Orientation, you are welcome to come up anytime and stay as long as you like to help with Corral Catering (feed and water) and Manure Meditations (corral mucking), and can work towards becoming a Grooming Guru (horse grooming), or Tuesday Tech to help our veterinarian and farriers.
