Fluffy Horses & Fresh Snowy Peaks are here to stay.....

The ranch is ready for winter and snow to come, the horses have plenty of hay, some have blankets for those chilly nights and Robin's Nest offers a cozy place to warm up for our amazing volunteers & indoor arena to continue the training schedule for all the MVHR Rescue Herd. This is only possible for the 29 horses in our care because of people like YOU!

Colorado Gives Day is only 15 days away, and we ask YOU to join us in this amazing wave of generosity. One of our wonderful, long time supporters has offered a MATCH of $20,000! This means your donation to the horses goes twice as far!

As we reach the end of 2023, we ask you to Donate, so that we can continue to give the horses what they need to recover and rehabilitate as they complete their Journey of Hope, and allow us to help more horses!

A HUGE shout out to Alpine Bank for underwriting our Fall Mini Horse Heroes Series! Thanks to their generous donation, we welcomed over 60 families to the ranch this fall! The minis will be back in the Spring with new sessions!

Colorado Gives Day!

Help MVHR, Help More Horses in need of a safe place to land! A long time supporter has generously offered to match YOUR donation up to $20,000! Mountain Valley Horse Rescue invites YOU to join in this amazing wave of generosity.

This means in addition to the Incentive Fund by Colorado Gives Foundation and FirstBank, your donation gives more to the horses! It is The Day that Keeps on Giving.

And guess what...that is not all! If you set up a NEW monthly donation between Nov 20 - Dec 5 Colorado Gives Foundation will match up to $100 for each donation and up to $250,000 total across all organizations! This means, your $25 donation gives the horses $50, and your $100 donation becomes $200! Your donation must be monthly and the match happens on the second donation. Lock in your monthly donation before the $250,000 match runs out.

Reintroducing: FireFly

Toffee

Horse Updates

In November we celebrate the adoptions of Bear and Noche who are already off on their next chapters, and Freckles who starts her adoption trial with a wonderful woman!

Goofy Darcy is back from Summit Valley Horse Center where he spend the summer learning lots! He will make an amazing companion & ground work horse for someone looking for an in your pocket kind of guy.

Wildfire did not complete her adoption trial however we know her person is out there somewhere. She recently had a visit from a horse communicator who shared with us that she is not a fan of her name, and would like to be called Firefly instead. So we are reintroducing

Firefly: This girl loves to go on trail adventures, and can go for miles. She is in need of her very own person she can bond with, as she came from not having that in the past.

We are moving into winter above our capacity, with calls daily for more horses in need of a safe place before the cold sets in. There are many amazing rideable horses available for adoption, come meet your next horse and help us spread the word! Once these amazing horses leave for their new homes, MVHR can help those that are waiting for a spot before winter!

Monty - Kentucky Mountain Horse, seasoned ranch horse, been there done that, lots of adventure left.

Silk - sweet thoroughbred mare, mid-twenties, knows a whole lot and is very fun to ride!

Bill - goofy, big thoroughbred, sweet as can be on the ground and under saddle. Ready for arena work or trail!

Moon - registered Arabian looking for his special someone. A calm intermediate to advance rider can take him on the trail or work in the arena. He enjoys groundwork and wants to please his handler.

Toffee - looking for her bestie! This sweet sorrel mare is mid-teens and broke to ride.

Winston - Handsome dun gelding with amazing ground manners, and lots of buttons under saddle! He would like an intermediate or above rider, and he is ready to please on the trail or in the arena. He loves adventures and putting his brain to work!

Peanut - is a sweet mare, mid-teens that only came to us last month, but is ready to go! With a lot of get-up-and-go this girl will take you for miles on the trail or around the ranch!

VOLUNTEER - The horses can really use your help!

We are so grateful for everyone who joined the Community Volunteer Days, this year! Many amazing volunteers completed their 10 hours in order to participate in the Hopeful Hearts Program, and were matched with their rescue horse this fall. They will work with these horses through the winter to help them gain confidence and be ready for adoption!

For those of you who would like to become a Certified Volunteer, which qualifies you to come up to the Rescue anytime to help, Volunteer orientations are via appointment - email volunteer@mvhr.net to schedule yours!

We are incredibly appreciative of our Volunteers! Thank you, current Volunteers!
