| Newsletter October 2024 The mornings and evenings at the ranch are getting colder, the horses are starting to grow their winter coats while they soak up all the fall sunshine we've enjoyed these last few weeks. The continued nice weather brings many volunteers and visitors to the ranch, and local school groups returned for service days to help the horses and the ranch get ready for winter. Thank you to all of you who bid and donated in the Hay Day Online Auction! We raised over $22,000 and these funds will be allocated directly to horse care, like vet and farrier costs, the most important care besides hay & feed. Thank you to all of our community partners and supporters for donating over 100 items to be auctioned off this year! The last few weeks continued to be busy with potential adopters visiting the ranch, and Gus, Charcoal, Waco and Buster left for their adoption trial. New intakes have already arrived, as there unfortunately is never a shortage of horses that need our help. Fall Programs continue and we look forward to hosting Fall Break Week Day Camps for the first time next week! There are still a few spots, so register for the week of October 15-18 so your child can come spend the day with horses! Trick or Trot is coming up on October 26th, bring the whole family to this free event but make sure to RSVP as tickets are limited. Continue reading for more details and updates from MVHR! |
